Sonata No. 1 for Solo Violoncello

The sonata arose from an exploration of the solo repertoire from the early 20th century. It features expected forms with cohesion and cyclical elements throughout. The Lydian mode and the whole tone scale dominate the work, though some octatonic and tonal harmony appears as well.

A very satisfying piece to practice and perform!
